Manufacturing Capabilities

Our 8 spindle Acme Gridley screw machines can turn stock ranging from one inch to two and five eights inches in diameter while holding tolerances of .001 inch.  These durable machines perform the rough turning required to manufacture large quantities efficiently.  Two of the larger machines have been retrofitted with cnc controls to reduce set up times and increase our versatility.

Our turning department includes ten late model Mazak lathes and two Okuma lathes, an  LU 400 and an LU 25.  The Mazaks are capable of machining items up to thirteen inches in diameter and twenty inches in length.  The LU400 Okumas has a four inch bore and is configured to handle a variety of shafts up to   fifty inches long.  Indexable chucks on our Mazaks allow multiple operations with a single setup reducing unproductive changeover time.  Twin turrets allow for multiple operations simultaneously improving product flow and cycle times.   Bar feed attachments increase efficiency.  Tolerances of .0005 and microfinishes of 32 can consistently be maintained.  Two shift operations allow us to begin making prototypes within hours of drawing releases.
